Presentation

The ExTech symposium series is the flagship event for sample preparation, analytical extraction and sample clean-up techniques. The series, started in 1999 by Prof. Janusz Pawliszyn (University of Waterloo, Canada), has been annually held around the world. ExTech has become a unique and vital medium for the exchange of information and ideas in the growing field of sample preparation.

We take great pleasure in announcing that Alicante will host the XXIII International Symposium on Advances in Extraction Technologies (ExTech) between the 29th of June and 2nd of July, 2021.

Panorámica para campaña Fitur 2019

Alicante, known by the Romans as Lucentum, or “City of Light”, offers an unparalleled combination of liveliness and generosity. It is a carefully planned city, both hospitable and full of surprises as one walks down its streets, with parks and emblematic buildings wherever you go. Alicante has a gentle climate, with mild temperatures and many hours or sunlight, which we hope you will enjoy during the days you spend here with us.

Our main objective is to attain the levels of excellence seen at the previous ExTech meetings. We are therefore preparing for this important scientific event with great effort and dedication, with a view to ensuring a first-rate scientific programme showcasing the latest research and trends in sample preparation.

The official programme will include plenary, keynote lectures, oral lectures, poster sessions, workshops and industrial exhibition bringing us up to date on the latest advances and trends in the field; and poster and oral lectures sessions by our young researchers and, who represent the future of this scientific discipline. Furthermore, sessions will be dedicated to the DAC-EuChemS Study Group, and selected contributions to ExTech2021 will be published in an ExTech special virtual issue in several Elsevier journals, namely, Analytica Chimica Acta, Talanta and Journal of Chromatography A. In addition, the ExTech will feature the no less important participation of companies specialising in this field, in a technical and trade exhibition bringing to attendees the major technological innovations placed at the service of Analytical Chemistry by the exhibitor companies. Participants will also have the opportunity of exchanging views with the professionals of these companies on all those aspects having such a major impact on our activity. The social events rounding off the programme will promote informal discussion between attendees, as well as allowing them to enjoy the delicious food and the cultural and leisure activities that our city has to offer.

We sincerely hope that you will be able to attend and participate, and trust that this event will be of the highest scientific and human value, full of content, vibrancy and participation, fulfilling your every expectation. We look forward to seeing you all in Alicante.
